Explains the priority and how BeProfit Manages COGS
BeProfit offers multiple methods to input and manage the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) for your products. When utilizing a combination of these methods, it’s essential to understand their priority to ensure accurate cost calculations. The hierarchy, from highest to lowest priority, is as follows:
- Bulk Update from the Orders Page: Directly updating COGS on the Orders page takes precedence over all other methods. This approach allows for immediate adjustments to specific orders.
- Manual Edit on the Orders Page: Manually modifying COGS for individual orders ensures that these changes are applied directly and override other settings.
- COGS Integration (e.g., CJ Dropshipping): Integrations that automatically fetch COGS data from external platforms like CJ Dropshipping will override general profiles and manual entries, ensuring real-time cost accuracy.
- COGS Profiles:
- Specific Products Selected: Profiles tailored for particular products have higher priority than those applied universally.
- All Products Selected: General profiles that apply to all products come next in the hierarchy.
- Google Sheets Sync: Synchronizing COGS via Google Sheets provides a convenient way to manage costs but will be overridden by the above methods.
- Product Cost Page Manual Update: Manually updating COGS on the Product Cost page has the lowest priority and will be superseded by other methods.
Understanding this hierarchy ensures that when multiple methods are employed, the system applies the most specific and immediate COGS data available, maintaining accurate financial records.
