This article covers what info you can find and what you can do via Viably's cash flow planning.
It is critical to have an understanding of your ecommerce business’ cash flow, so you can be more informed about the cash and funding you may need for your store's growth plans.
To help make sense of how cash is moving in and out of your business, look to Viably’s cash flow breakdown in your Growth Dashboard. Let’s take a look at what information you’ll find and how you can get detailed views of your business’ transactions.
What can I see in the Cash Flow Planning?
From your Viably Growth Dashboard, get a monthly snapshot of your cash flow. All of this This is broken out based on your connected accounts (bank or credit accounts) and your connected marketplace.
- Your cash balance
- Planned inventory purchase(s)
- Funding
- Repayments
- Your salary
- Total Inflows (cash coming in to your ecommerce business)
- Total Outflows (cash moving out of your ecommerce business)
- Change (difference between your inflows and outflows)
How can I interact with my cash flow breakdown?
For a more detailed view into how your cash is moving, dive into the individual lines within your cash inflow and outflows. This is categorized based on your various transactions (i.e. software transactions, credit card, accounting, etc.):
To help increase the accuracy of your forecasting, you can always edit future cash inflows or outflows. For an example, if you know that there is going to be a sizable deduction from a portion of your outflows or a major change to your inflows at a later date, you can easily adjust that in your cash flow simulation in Viably! Hover over the specific cash flow type, and you'll see an edit pencil.
Once you click the edit pencil, you'll have the ability to change the forecasted value for just the selected month or you can apply that same value for the remaining months of the year.
You can click the edit pencil in the upper right-hand corner to omit certain categories from your cash flow view or add new categories.
For a deeper understanding within your cash flow categories, click the expense box within that category’s line. This will show you all the transactions, within that month specific to that category, and the ability to review those transactions from your Viably Cash Dashboard.
