A Reserve Hold is a temporary restriction placed on a portion of your account balance. Below, we explain why this hold exists and how it protects you during important account changes.

Key Reasons for the Reserve Hold

  1. You Recently Took Funding from Viably
    As part of our funding program, we ensure that your account remains ready to handle necessary charges and expenses related to your business operations, particularly during transitional periods.

  2. Changing Your Shopify Payout Account to Viably Global Account
    When you update your Shopify payout account to your Viably Global Account, the process may take up to 5 business days. During this time, Shopify might temporarily hold your payouts, which could lead to a delay in the funds appearing in your Viably account.

  3. Protection Against Charges and Expenses
    The Reserve Hold ensures your account can handle any Shopify charges or other business expenses that may arise during the transition period. This safeguard helps maintain your business continuity and avoids potential disruptions.

  4. Clear Display of Reserve Amount and Holding Period
    You can view the exact Reserve Hold amount and the date when the hold will be lifted directly in your account dashboard. This transparency ensures you know how much is held and when you can expect full access to your balance.

When Will the Reserve Hold Be Released?

The Reserve Hold will be released once:

  • The Shopify payout account update is complete.

  • The 5-business-day transition period has ended.

At that time, the reserved funds will become fully accessible in your account.
